WBI 2: Witches Bureau of Investigation 2 (Witches Bureau of Investigation #2) by Richard Capwell and Noreen Capwell continues the story of the retired witches and the twins as the battle evil and solve mysteries. It is a kids book but it also helps kids learn that age is barrier to doing things- young or old. It is a fun and exciting mystery, fantasy where kids and the elderly work together to stop the end of mankind, again. A fun and exciting story that is delightful crafted and fun to read. The characters are unique and interesting such as the dragon shifter or the wolf shifter, or the witches and their special potions. The forgetful witch, the red eyed demon, and others are also unique and fun in their own way. Love these stories and I know my grand kids will love them too.Product details

WBI 2 Witches Bureau Of Investigation 2 WBI Series edition by Richard Capwell Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
This book was a sheer joy to read. A whimsical collection of characters involved with fast moving plot line. Nothing earth shaking about this book other than a really fun read that left me wishing for adventures of the WBI.
Second in a series, and I hope there are more. It's almost like a young adult book, and would definitely be appropriate for older children and teens. For me, both books are a fun, light read and a great change of pace. I love them.
A treasure for everyone of any age who loves a fun filled romp of an adventure. I can't give a higher recommendation than I give for this series for children whose parents understand that a little violence tempered by education wrapped in the most enjoyable and delightful package possible is a very good thing.
I am giddy beyond belief that the sequel is free as well!! (I would have definitely paid for it, but getting it free is such a great surprise) The first book was highly entertaining, and I'm expecting that the follow up will be just as good! Well written, interesting characters that you actually care about, and a fun storyline....what more could a bookworm want?!
This sequel was not nearly as good as the first book. While I thought #1 was short, it left me yearning for more. This one dragged on so that I kept putting it down, having to force myself to pick it up again. Also, I found the ending abrupt, unsatisfying, and frankly sort of creepy. While I'd probably read #3 if it shows up, I'd not get my hopes up that the quality of #1 is likely to be repeated.
Spoiler Free Review
I picked this YA novel up when it was offered free. I have a nephew that loves to read and I like to sample new authors before buying him books from that author. A retired educator I have always encouraged parents to read what their children are reading. In this case if I am giving him a book his mother knows I have already vetted the author.
This is a well written book with a plot that should appeal to a fourth through sixth grader. Some of the vocabulary is a bit formal but largely kids will relate well to the book.
For an adult this is a quick read for a child this should be a good length and should keep them occupied for a while. It is a paranormal so some parents may choose to pass. The kids save the day in the end so most young readers will be pleased.
WBI 2 is every bit as cute as the first volume in the series, with even more local references to make this former Angelino homesick. It seems to have been written to appeal both to juvenile readers and adults, as a lot of its humor -- or references to old-time Los Angeles -- would probably go right over the heads of young readers. The scene in Forest Lawn Cemetery, in particular, was a giddy combination of sweet, nostalgic, spooky, and fast-paced. Kids would probably only 'get' the reference to Michael Jackson, if that, while caught up in the chase. That's OK, though -- think of Star Wars, with its die-hard fans ranging in age from 6 to 90, and all getting different things out of it.
But there are passages when it just seems too self-consciously tongue-in-cheek, too arch, and they created downers in a book I otherwise swallowed in one delighted gulp.
More, please!
